The goal at Zavaleta Studios is to help you fall in love with the creative arts. We offer individual and group music classes to children and adults.
At Zavaleta Studios, we are actively engaged in making music as well. We perform and produce bilingual children's music, contemporary percussion, and Mexican folkloric music. Contact us today to start your creative journey!
The bongos are traditionally found in Afro-cuban music, adding depth and richness to the drums. Small enough to cart around in a backpack, bongos add spice and life to all kinds of contemporary music.
Percussion instruments are awesome. Equally as incredible are the sticks we hit them with to make sounds. An art in itself, many people dedicate themselves to weaving mallets for the marimba, as well as other sticks and brushes for other instruments.
Students at Percussion Studio Rocks learn to play the snare drum. Sometimes they use it as part of a rock band, and other times they play it carefully and precisely in classical music.
Whether it be marimba, glockenspiel, or xylophone, there are many percussion instruments that make melodies! Kind of like a piano, many of these instruments use keys attached to resonators to produce all kinds of sounds.
The classic drum set is integral to popular music- the drummer is responsible for holding the beat and the drummer reminds us when things are about to get exciting and when to slow down and listen. So much can be done with rhythym!
This simple instrument- a tambourine- can contribute so much to a musical group, idea, or piece! The shaking of metal against metal is a sound most of us can recognize, and our students take these recognizable sounds to a whole new musical level.
